BETRAYING JESUS

John 13:18-38

 

SETTING THE SCENE:

 

TWO EARTH-SHATTERING MOMENTS:

  1. Jesus makes Himself the lowest servant in a room full of His servants.
  2. Jesus announces His betrayer is in the room.

 

TWO LIFE-CHANGING MOMENTS (John 13):

  1. When we shut our hearts to Jesus, we open them to the Devil.
  2. When you belong to Jesus, God is at work in your life.

 

THE CROSS, THE GLORY:

  1. Jesus declares the cross as supreme glorification.
  2. Christ must first die for Peter before Peter can die for Him.

  1. Jesus came to reveal God’s identity.

  1. Jesus came to recover God’s creation.

(Luke 19:10, Matthew 1:21)

 

  1. Jesus came to reproduce God’s life in you.
