  • It acknowledges Him as Lord.
  •  It is a pledge.
  • It is a response of faith in God’s offer in Jesus Christ.
  • It represents Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection.

It Is Not…

  • … just an act of obedience.
  • … optional or unnecessary.
  • … entry into a specific congregation.
  • … sprinkling or pouring.
  • … a free ticket to heaven.
